1. Who we are
This website, itsagirlsstory.com, is run by It’s a Girls Story (“A Girl’s Story”, “we”, “us”), a café in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We are responsible for the personal details you share with us through this website, by WhatsApp, by phone or in person.
We follow the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data and other UAE laws that apply to us.
2. What we collect

Please only share another person’s details (for example, the name of the person whose birthday it is) if they would be happy for you to do so.
3. How we use it
- To review, confirm and manage your booking or celebration, and to keep a table ready for you.
- To contact you about your booking, for example to confirm it, remind you the day before or let you know about a change. We usually do this by WhatsApp or text message, and by email if you’ve given us one.
- To prepare for your visit, such as a high chair, a birthday box or a dietary request.
- To answer your questions and look after any feedback or complaint.
- To keep our website and booking system secure, and to meet our legal and tax obligations.
We use your details because you have asked us to take a booking or plan an event, because we need to meet legal obligations, or because it is in our legitimate interest to run a safe and well-organised café. We will only send you news or offers if you have clearly agreed to receive them, and you can stop them at any time.
4. Allergies and dietary notes
If you tell us about an allergy or dietary need, we use it only so our team can prepare for your visit and take care of you. Please share only what we need to know. We delete these notes once your visit or event has passed, unless you ask us to remember them for next time. Always speak to our team when you arrive so they can guide you safely.
5. Who we share it with
We never sell or rent your personal details. We share them only with:
- Service providers who help us run the café. These include our website and booking system host, our email provider and WhatsApp (Meta), which we use to message you. They may only use your details to provide their service to us.
- Partners for your event, such as a florist or cake maker, only if you ask us to arrange something with them and only what they need.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
6. Where it is stored
Some of our service providers may store or process details outside the UAE. When that happens, we choose providers with strong security and use the safeguards UAE law requires, so your details remain protected to the same standard.
7. How long we keep it
- Booking and celebration details: up to 24 months after your visit or enquiry, so we can manage repeat visits, look after any questions and keep accurate records. Records we must keep for tax or accounting reasons are kept for as long as UAE law requires.
- Allergy and dietary notes: until your visit or event has passed, unless you ask us to keep them.
- Messages: as long as needed to deal with what you asked, then deleted within 24 months.
8. Your rights
Under UAE law you can ask us to:
- tell you what details we hold about you and how we use them, and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your details, or stop or limit how we use them;
- withdraw any consent you’ve given, such as for news and offers;
- send your details to you or another organisation in a commonly used format.
Email hello@itsagirlsstory.com and we will reply within 30 days. We may need to confirm who you are first. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details, please tell us so we can put it right. You can also complain to the UAE Data Office.
9. Cookies and browser storage
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. To save you retyping, the booking and celebration forms keep what you’ve entered in your own browser until you send it. This stays on your device; you can clear it at any time in your browser settings. If we add website statistics in future, we will update this policy and ask for your agreement where needed.
10. Children
Little guests are always welcome, but bookings and enquiries must be made by an adult. We only hold details about children that a parent or guardian gives us for a booking, such as the number of children or a birthday name.
11. Keeping it safe
We use secure, encrypted connections, limit access to the people who need it to look after you, and choose providers with strong security. No system is completely risk-free, but if something ever went wrong that affected your details, we would act quickly and tell you and the authorities where the law requires.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the café grows. The date at the top always shows the latest version, and we will tell you about any important changes.
